Criterion and Acumatica Deliver Right Mix for Construction Industry

Partnership with Acumatica Heralds New Era of Easy-to-Use Cloud-Based Solution; Complex Job Cost Tracking Finally Integrated with Powerful, Accessible Functionality

January 22, 2018 — Job costing can make or break the smallest job if not dealt with using accurate calculations, while large jobs require deeper calculations to make job costing convenient and effective. To address the shortcomings of current industry offerings, Criterion has partnered with the world’s fastest-growing cloud ERP company, Acumatica, integrating Acumatica’s Construction Edition with Criterion’s Construction Payroll.

Criterion’s Construction Payroll connects Human Capital Management aspects to Acumatica’s Project Accounting, Compliance Management, Retainage, Change Orders, Job Costing and Document Management. Acumatica’s Construction Edition is a true cloud solution that includes Open API 2.0 standards for multi-cloud interfaces, productivity tools with Microsoft Office 365, and electronic signatures with DocuSign and Adobe.

“As one example of how our partnership has made life easier for Construction Payroll administrators, it is a simple and logical task to configure a new employee for taxes, and track their activities across multiple jurisdictions with differing taxes and reporting requirements,” said Criterion VP of Sales Steven Kuhn. “Following the needs of the industry, we can accommodate any style of time capture layouts with nearly unlimited granularity, permitting smaller operations to better track actual costs and global construction firms to always have Key Performance Indicators at their fingertips.”

“We listened to users of decades-old legacy software, leveraged the power of Acumatica Cloud xRP platform and the flexibility and advanced functionality of Criterion HCM to deliver a fully-featured cloud solution that fills a gap for underserved customers in the construction industry,” said Ajoy Krishnamoorthy, VP of Platform Strategy at Acumatica.

Built on the configurability and flexibility of the Criterion HCM solution, Criterion announced the availability of Construction Payroll earlier this year, which provides:

  • Timekeeping and tax calculations for all US States and Canadian provinces and local entities (with global payroll capabilities coming soon)
  • Timekeeping by Job, Cost Code & Function through mobile, timesheet or timeclock technology
  • Configurable timesheet layouts for in/out or total hour input and assignment of hours worked with unlimited granularity
  • Timekeeping by crew/team, aggregate clock in/out functions and multi-level timesheet approval
  • After-the-fact timesheet editing to reassign/adjust hours
  • WH-347 or Certified Payroll reporting
  • Direct bi-directional API integration with Acumatica Project for tracking costs to specific projects as detailed as needed
  • API integration with Acumatica General Ledger

Come see a demonstration of the power of Criterion’s Construction Payroll and Acumatica Construction Edition at World of Concrete, January 23 - 26 2018, at the Las Vegas Convention Center booth #C3408.
